I had my gastric bypass surgery on 02/12 and I stayed overnight at the hospital (Emory at John's Creek, GA). The procedure took about 2 hours, then I was in recovery, then eventually taken to my room.

I had my surgery 2/5. I've been on soft foods for a month. Anyone else not really enjoy eating anymore? Like 3 or 4 bites and I've got a belly ache. I eat slow and small bites and it just never settled right. :(

Will that get better???

Food is no longer enjoyable....water isn't working either getting dehydrated no matter how hard I try.... but the weight continues to come off

I know the feeling about food! I am really starting to get good at making these amazing delicious healthy meals, and yet.... I can't seem to enjoy them much. I love eating so little... That is until I realize after several bites of this amazing meal I can't eat anymore. Also I chew my food really well and I have even started using an app on my phone that helps me space out my bites and even still every couple of meals I end up vomiting :( I know it will get better! And all in all I am so happy with everything just venting a bit too! Lol. I am lucky that liquids, with the exception of one night do not seem to bother me, hope it gets better for you!!

Can you share the name of this app please I need help chewing slower, thanks.

Sure! It's called "next bite" I found it in my iOS store. It's great you can set the timer to space your bites out as far as you want, I have my bites spaced out 90 sec.

If you have android the app is called "eat slower"

I also enjoy " Bariatric timer" android app.

Anyone taking iron supplements? I've been on since before surgery but the chewable ones I am taking irritate my tummy so bad I can only take at bed. I could use some ideas on iron...

Was taking nature plus chewables Ick....

hello, everyone! I go for my 6 week check up tomorrow. I think I'm down about 30 lbs? We will see tomorrow. Coming back to work really helped with speeding up my weight loss.I came back last week and I lost probably 5 lbs in just five days.

My question to all of you is some suggestions to vary my diet up.. I feel like I am stuck eating the same things for my "snacks"... greek yogurt or cottage cheese. I typically have a smoothie for breakfast, lean turkey or chicken with veggies for lunch and about the same for dinner. I'm not worried about my meals, but the yogurt and cottage cheese is getting so old.... It's how I get in additional protein so I can't really have veggies or fruit....

Any advise? What are you guys doing?

I'm stuck too.... I'm seven weeks out and losing about a half pound a day, so I'm happy. But food is no longer a happy event :( my favorite meal is a piece of cheese wrapped in a piece of lunch meat.
