I had my gastric bypass surgery on 02/12 and I stayed overnight at the hospital (Emory at John's Creek, GA). The procedure took about 2 hours, then I was in recovery, then eventually taken to my room.

I was told to use miralax and colasce to start, after several days, no joy, was told to try the mag citrate, that made me sick and I lost my mojo, finally was told to try good ol milk of mag, that got things moving! But had the stomach flu the last couple of days....not awesome

Dumb question- is anyone eating ANY fat? I just realized that the last three days, I've consumed ZERO fat. Anyone else? My NUT said fat free/low fat products, but doesn't the body need some fat to absorb some vitamins?

Maybe I'm over analyzing it this early.....

I think good fat is really important in a diet, although at the moment I am using 0% fat products I hope to move up to full fat as I go along and depending on how well my body tolerates it. This morning I tried 0% fat total yoghurt thinned down with full fat milk and a smidge of honey. I will see how that goes. I would like to be using full fat natural yoghurt, milk, butter etc in the future. My weight issues come from portion control and binges but generally through unprocessed good quality food.

Day four postop and I'm settling in at home...gas pains are still horrible. I'm walking and drinking water eating what I can mostly broth with potato flakes. And jello. Good luck to all getting their surgery this coming week.

Day two post op... mUCH better than yesterday! Yesterday I was miserable! I really had that moment of omg what did I do! But today things are feeling much better! Looks like I will be able to go home today. I hope I can sleep more comfortably at home! The bed here is awful lol. I hope everyone else is doing well.

Moyebrady- where in Wisconsin? I'm also in WI! (North Central part of the state)
