Hi All,

I am newto this site. I am also just starting my wieght loss journey. I have my information session at Kaiser on the 8th. Then I start the options classes either end of January or sometime in February depending on the class time. I am excited to finally get in control of my weight. I am hope to have my surgery over the summer so that I don't have to miss school. I am almost done with my BA in Libral Studies.

A little about me: I have been with my husband almost 9 years. We have been married just over 3 years. We have 3 children. 2 boys 8 and 3, and a girl who is 7 months. She is the princess for sure. The boys are in Karate and so we spend a lot of time at their dojo. My kids are my pride and joy. I love spending time with my family and my friends. I am in college (BA in Liberal Studies). I also take care of my grandma. She is 89 and she still works 5 days a week for the library. She no longer drives so I am happy to be her personal driver :) She is still adjust to not having a car but it is safer for everyone.

I am hoping that this surgery will help me lose weight so that I can actually exercise more than 2 days a week. i have back issues that prevent me from dooing a lot of things. My doctor belives this surgery will help.

Thank you.

Jennifer

GingerDiane,

I wasn't able to do any of those things on the app, I had to go through the website. Are you having those problems on the website? If so maybe you should contact their web support.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
