Going back to work, what do I say?

Recommended Posts

Tell them you've been having mind-blowing sex twice a day, an hour each session, for 30 days, and you've burnt great calories!

Just say "I've been taking care of me, limiting my carbs" and call it a day. Don't worry yourself with what they think or wonder. You can only control what you do and how you react. Folks will talk no matter what.

It's your life. You get to choose who or what you tell. I didn't tell a lot of people, but there are some people that I won't mind telling if they ask. I'm a REALLY nice person 99% of the time, and I'm private about a lot of things, but I'm also one of those people that will get nasty and in your face if you talk down to me, and make you wish you hadn't been born, so nobody is gonna give me any crap about it.

I only took a week off work. As far as anyone knew I was on vacation. One caveat is that I just about hated everyone and everything about my job so it wasn't hard for me to not tell people my business. You are not obligated to tell people your private medical business. If you had infertility treatments would you tell everyone? If you had an ovarian cyst removed would you feel obligated to tell? Just because you had a procedure that will eventually be noticeable does not mean you are obligated to pass that info along.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
