Stall at one week post op

Recommended Posts

I have been reading these forums for a little while and read all about the 3 week stall. Well, clearly my body couldn't wait 3 weeks and I have been stalled since 7 days post op.

What gives???!!!!

I had lost 6 kilos post op, 9.6 kilos all up and was feeling good! Then bam. Stalled.

I know its not going to last but it makes me feel crappy and like I am not doing the right thing!

And yes, I know I have to stop replying on the scales as a measure. I have just been so big for so long, it felt so good seeing the scale go down and down. I was 146.6 kilos at the start of all this and now I am 137 kilos. Leaving the 140 kilos was a massive achievement as I never thought I would get out! Now I'm in the 130s ans want to be in the 120s.

I just need to chill and let my body do its thing! Just needed to vent :)

Hang in there sweetie! As long as you are doing what you need to, your body will adjust. :D

How long could this "stall" possibly be if you're only a week out? Don't expect the scale NOT to fluctuate. It is what it is. Stalls and plateaus are generally defined as one week or longer. A day or two with no scale movement is not a stall. It's your body adjusting to changes. It's way too early to start freaking out. Breathe xoxo

I know its frustrating. I am 6 weeks out. I don't have the week long stall. I lose a pound and stay the same for 3 days and then it repeats itself over and over. Sometimes I feel I could have done that on my own without the surgery. Then I wonder did I make the right decision.

Vent away! :) and put the scale away! Haha stick to the guide your dr provided and don't check the scale for 10days. Or even wait an entire month. Then when you do start to drop it will show up big time and you will be dancing! I was a daily scale person until post op my numbers went up up up and I freaked out. Everyone said it was normal and I remained on target. I also stopped weighing and them went to the dr and had a wonderful loss. Dr advised not to stress because the stress itself causes hormones that slow the weight loss so it's like a double negative. Try to reduce stress and loose on my friend. :)

No matter what day your on it is always best to follow what the dr says. However as I have moved into the various phases if I experienced a "bad" day and things weren't setting well I would revert back to the previous stage for a day or two. When I moved into my current phase of soft cooked veggies that didn't need to be mushed up I had a few days that I ended up sick. I would revert back to the mushiness babyfood to break things up before moving forward. Giving my tummy a bit of a break seemed to help. Your tummy will help guide you I can assure you of this much :)

I am in a stall also. Have been the same weight about 8ish days and i'm only 20 days out. I use MyFitnessPal so I know I am doing the right thing. Also going to try and not weigh myself daily. Maybe put my scale in a different place.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
