I feel just blah today. I am 6 days post op and yesterday was a really good day. My shake and Water actually tasted good, I was interested in food. Today , I just want to stay in bed. I feel cold (I am NEVER cold) I haven't even drank enough liquids to get all my meds down, I'm not sleeping well at night, and my side incision is still rather sore..just feeling blah....

I am 7 days post op & have blah moments too. I am saying moments because sometimes you have to pick yourself up, drink, and then move. Staying hydrated and moving your body will make you feel better. Stepping outside for a few minutes and breathing fresh air will lift your spirits. Staying in bed all day will prolong that blah feeling. You can do it! Upsy daisy!!!

Ditto to what @@ProjectMe said. I am 5 weeks post op and somedays are better than others. Begin the habit of going outside to get a breath of fresh air. Whether its cold or sunny - it will do you some good. I've learned that it helps me clear my head of the negative crap I tend to think about. You got it! Kick that blah feeling outta there! Happy Holidays.

I am also 8 days post-op and have had up and down feelings. However, I try to remind myself that I just had major surgery and give myself a break. I had a dog which helps me get up and out. But then I do get tired and have had challenges of getting my liquids and Protein. So i drink a glass of milk in the morning w GENEPRO which is unflavored and a great tri-peptide protein source. That helps because without protein we will feel tired. Friends who have had this surgery tell me to take it easy because we really do need to heal first. Depression can come too just because of the physical and hormonal changes so I'm actually sitting at my acupuncturist waiting for my appointment ;) It's amazing how much this helps. Take care all and enjoy the holidays!!

It's okay. Your body is still healing. If you need to chill for a day do so.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
