I'm five days post op and know exactly what you mean! Only so many clear liquid varieties. I'm really looking forward to the full liquid stage, though I'm sure I'll get tired of that fast as well.

The first stages are extreamly hard. Especially around the holidays. But, just think how next year you will be able to eat some of everything. And you will be thin! It's so hard, but you can do it. That's why we go through this. Hang tuff!

I am trying to keep as positive as I can, but man this is tuff!! I sleep nap most of the time so time can go by fast. So I won't see people eating and being merry... Even tho I don't feel physical hunger it's the training my head part that's hard. Thanks everyone it's good to know I am not alone ..

I know me too!!!!!!!!! Sick of it all, just disgusted by food in general. All I can say is that for me, the craving for food I couldn't eat are much much less now. Mostly I just like Water and coffee and tea. :) everything else is gross and don't even get me started on the Vitamins !!

Are we just going to end up hating food for the rest of our lives or what??

I think we are going to develop a new relationship with food. One that is positive and healthy. These first weeks are hard but you will get through them.

I have been in full liquids for 3 weeks due to complications from surgery, believe me, they fill you up. Protein Shakes, sf puddings, applesauce, Soups, sf Jello , by the time you get to eat the soft pureed foods (today was day 1 for me) , I realized the full liquids is just easier. No cravings on the full liquids, now that I can chew food, I find I have more head hunger than before.

Seriously, I feel the same way. All the good food smells, the holiday recipes I usually make, and head hunger is killing me. I'm 5 days post op, and I can't wait for some real food, even if it is pureed. Right now crystal lite shaved ice from my vita mix is saving me.

Costalchick I started thicker liquids as of yestersay but me too I can't wait to be able to eat some normal food.. Hubby got me some butternut squash Soup which used to be my fav is tasting very weird to me right now... I honestly think our taste buds and cravings will be changed after this ... But I know what you mean and I am right there with you... Hang in there !!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
