Does anyone actually like their protein drink?

As a bit of background, I am 15 months out, and have been what I feel to be successful with the sleeve thus far. I don't tend to always get in my Protein though and even when I first started the sleeve process, I did not get into Protein drinks. First, I try to avoid chocolate for most of the year, so that knocks out a lot of good flavors, and second, well they taste gross and seem to have a lot of calories and ingredients that are not terrifically natural sounding. For those of you who really like your protein beverages, any ideas on brands that taste good or recipes that incorporate low calorie ingredients with a certain Protein powder? As of January 1 (the best start-a-diet-day ever), I would like to really work on getting in all of my protein, and I feel as if a liquid option once a day would be ideal.

I am lazy, so a pre-mixed, pull out of the fridge, and drink it option is probably what would be ideal for me long term, but I'm generally a little ambitious at the beginning of the year, so blender versions with fun, low-fat ingredients would also be helpful.

Thank-you everyone for your thoughts!

GENEPRO unflavored. Tasteless and you can put it in anything, and has like 30gms of Protein per tablespoon, not per HUGE scoop. I put it in about everything. Can't taste it. Of course, if it was i

  • Nope, I don't like any of it. But I can tolerate Premier Protein. Low sugar, high carb and it's grab and go. Do you like beef Jerky? It's salty and good and I get to chew, chew, chew so it last

  • Hi @@AvaFern, et al. I have seriously great morning Protein shakes - since you don't do chocolate much, ignore the second one. First fave is just like Starbucks Frappucino: In a ziplock baggie I co

Love mine- premier protein chocolate yum!

I mix the EAS French Vanilla with decaf coffee in the morning. I also use the snack size premiere protein. Both shakes are only 100 calories each. I have the French Vanilla everyday.

Chike is insanely good. They have one that tastes just like a creamsicle.

I blend all of their flavors with ice to make it coolatta style and add Torani syrup to the vanilla flavor to make gingerbread, etc.

I like the pre made premeire chocolate shakes. They don't have that gross protein drink taste.

No, I hate protein shakes and will not drink them. I stopped drinking them as soon as I hit my 2 weeks post op. I expressed to my doctor that I would rather get my protein from food sources and not a protein shake. I'm doing well getting my protein in daily. I find high protein seafood to eat like; shrimp, scallops and fish. I do eat a lot of chicken too.

Me too. I hate them. They're gross...have yet to try one I like enough to get down. I find many have a slimy "under-texture" and leave a bad taste.

I still drink them a few times a week but try to get my protein from real food.

unjury strawberry, vanilla and chocolate. I just just tried Body Logic with Stevia that my PA at surgeon's office suggested, and liked the chocolate.

Premier protein vanilla. Or muscle milk. Really cold. After workout they taste better ! Maybe I'm just used to them after 8 years. I like quest bars too.

When I feel ambitious or just can't take another RTD chocolate shake, I go to Dashing Dish's website. Just made a pumpkin pie protein shake for the hubby and I: cottage cheese, one scoop protein powder, canned pumpkin, spices, sweetener of choice and ice/milk blended to desired consistency. Thick, creamy and a great flavor change up. She also has an amazing "Shamrock" shake or mint protein shake that includes a handful of spinach. These take me 5 minutes to make and then rinse the blender out even so I too am lazy so this effort only happens on the weekends.

I use EAS advantEDGE. It's a soy protein isolate, and i tolerate it much better than the whey isolate. Plus it comes pre made or in powder form! Also tastes pretty good, I have tried chocolate and also fudge and it tastes like chocolate milk! It's pretty good!

honestly I know ive mentioned ive done tons of protein drink video taste tests on my blog, but the syntrax nectar and matrix products are hands down the best. I wont use genepro because of the obvious lie they use. they say you get 30 grams of protein in 15 grams of product which as you canguess is not possible. Ive called them out on this several times and they just delete my posts so I know they are not being truthful.

I like a few isopure ready made drinks, the black tea being the best period. alpine punch and prange are decent . my favorites now are the syntrax nectar vanilla torte, the syntrax nectar cappuccino and the syntrax nectar fuzzy navel, I found using 1% milk with shakes like vanilla cappuccino etc. but water with flavors like cherry, fuzzy navel etc.
