Have you called your doctor?

It may be gas, which you need to walk to help relieve that...

or it could be more serious, like your gallbladder...

Please call your doctor asap to check on this...severe pain is NOT normal :(

Are the sharp pains on your right side? If so it may be your gallbladder. I had mine removed when they did my sleeve on the 28th. Less seriously it could be gas or Constipation. Contact your doctor, before I left the hospital they said every day should be a little better. If it's worse you have to let us know.

No it's in my stomach. Its almost like my stomach is having a spasm and it really hurts!!! I didn't have them in the hospital but then again I was so doped up on pain killers I wasn't feeling a thing lol It's like the liquid I'm drinking hits the stomach and BAM! the pain hits me. Or I'll be sitting at my desk and I get the sharp pain and my eyes tear up. I'm getting up from my desk every hour and walking around so the gases don't build up and I'm not over eating...Or should I say drinking... :)

I had stomach spasms the first few days when drinking - it hurt like a beast. I'm 2 weeks out and it's pretty much stopped, but when I do feel it, it's nowhere near as bad. Playing around with the temperature of your liquids might help - room temperature was all I could handle the first few days.

Someone on here mentioned being put on something for it, but I don't remember who or what. Def. follow up with your surgeon, if that's really all it is they might be able to help!

Hope you're feeling better soon!

I get them too. I'm 15 days post op. It got better during the liquid phase but as soon as I started on the solids I started to experience it again. Mother of god it makes me not want to eat. The sleeve is amazing. I hate food now.

I don't know how you drink your Water, but this is what I do.

I put some in my mouth and swallow down small little sips until it's gone.

If I try to drink the Water straight down from the glass, I get stomach pains.

I had these weird pains for almost two weeks, not sure if they are what you're describing, but it happened almost every time I took a sip of anything...it was like a building sharp pain in my belly and it got worse and worse over about 5 seconds, then slowly went away....I asked my doctor about it and he said its gas (because we all unknowingly take in air when we drink) and that it will get better as time goes on, he also said to try and be aware when you are sipping and try not to take in any air. I'm now 3 weeks out and I burp a lot but no more horrible pains! Seriously, the first week was the worst, they were so painful I thought I was dying ???? it will get better! EVERYTHING gets better! Just give it some time ????

Are you taking any antacids ?

I had these pains too but I actually didn't think they were that bad. I found that walking helped me a lot. I can't drink a lot of Water or anything fast, so I take a few sips at a time. I've drank a whole bottle down not realizing that its gonna empty right out once its down the shoot and onto the toilet you go.

I spoke with my doctor's office today. They said the pain wasn't normal. Told me to go back on liquids for an extra week then try again on soft foods. They said if I still have stomach pains four weeks out they would perform a swallow test.

I feel so much better. They gradually went away but came back when I started pureed foods. But of course they too once again gradually disappeared. I start solids on New Year's Day so I'm sure I'll be in pain again! lol I spoke to my doctor and he said they are probably gas pains or my stomach reacting to having substance in it. Thanks for asking how I was doing!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
