I'm so with you about touching the bones. I love it! My collar bones are kind of like a anchor (Old WW talk here) for me now. When I'm undecided about eating something bad or not working out, reaching up for my collar bones kind of helps me think, "Make the better choice." Does that make sense?

HP-

They said they couldn't get the port because I've lost so much wieght. I guess it's easier to find for the initial stab shortly after surgery when people typically get filled, then they have an idea how to approach from then on. Since this is my first stab, and I'm getting all gelantinous in the belly area it just moved all over the place. The doc really tried to manipulate it under my skin too. I told the LNP, who tired first, that he was pretty aggressive...she said, yeah surgeons have no fear, they cut open bodies, they'll pinch and pull ya too. He didn't want to give up either, but I was glad when he did. Whew.

It feels superficial when I stand up but is impossible to feel when I lay down. So they had me up against a wall...I feel the fluro will be better anyway, that way they'll adjust it to pretty tight and we'll know exactly how it's positioned for future fills.

Isn't that something. Oh, and by their scale I had lost 6 pounds in 5 weeks. But the surgeon and I had an agreement that I'd get my first fill when I stopped losing at least 10 pounds a month. July was rough and I didn't hit that goal, I knew I wasn't going to hit it so I made the appointment.

However I'm happy to report I've saw 237 today. I've got to update my ticker...I'm happy to see the scale move. It's been far too long.

That's a big ass giant posting.

D-baby, where are you?

And a excellent posting at that!!!

Great job....I can't beleive you have gone that long without a fill. I feel like mine stops working for me after about 10 days? Dont know why just does. I have read allot about it and seems to be allot of people have the same issues.

I want to be tight but not so tight I am sick. havent been sick yet, nor do I want to be.

I am dealing with allot of stress right now(money is way tight) and I have noticed I am letting myself have a soft drink here and there.....I have got to STOP!!!! That is not what I need to be doing.

it is like well, one wont kill me, and than i am at 2....yea, and i wonder why the scale is not moving....DUGH!!!!!

HP

(get a pillow, I'm going to kick your butt)

Why are you drinking sodas? The bubbles are not good for you pouch! You know that, right? And the sugar, I'm assuming they are not diet, is horrible! That is so many wasted calories! Hell, eat some creamy, milk chocolate or a piece of soft, warm French bread with melted butter (insert a drooly Homer Simpson voice here) if you're going to blow 160 calories on soda.

Ass kicking over

As for not feeling your fill, do you eat mostly solids? Are you a soft food eater? I hope I feel mine.

Do you write down what you eat? Just curious.

And being stressed is so hard. I know when you have other real life worries taking care of your self by eating well gets pushed aside. It feels too much like work. There is also the comfort of all those horrible calories. Bitch ass calories that make us feel so good, it's not comfort food for nothing.

But logically we know making "less than" choices won't get us to goal as quickly as making good choices will.

XO

I barfed once on diet soda. I rarely touch the stuff now and if I do it is very flat and only a sip or two.

I would much rather eat my calories than drink them though. The french bread sounds lovely though I am sure it would make me sick. I can only eat the crust or toast. Speaking of which I had a slice or rye bread with some diet jelly on it for breakfast....it was dreamy.

237 is awesome J! You are doing so well. Just wait until you have good restriction. It really is a kick in the butt when you realize you can't eat what you could before. But you get used to it.

It hasnt bothered my stomach at all and I think that is why I have allowed it to continue? I dont know....it is hard habit...I dont want to waste the calories that is for sure.

I dont like sweets. i dont like choc, vanilla, or cakes and ice cream, yougurt...i am a very very picky eater.

I mainly eat chicken, and well, chicken...I do have some turkey and some beef, but love chicken...and everyway to eat it I like it.

Not a big bread eater, which is good, but I just know when I drink the drink it is like a huge relief....

I will make a good choice tonight, and RIDE!!! I DEFIANTLY DONT LIKE THAT AFTER RIDING.

thanks J for the support.....and the ass kickin....

Jumping Boobs and Bone touching! Do you guys don't know how (HARD) it is to keep from making some off-color comment about touching (BONES)? lol

But I have been doing the same thing so I will try to behave! What's really neat is I can feel an old ribcage break. I haven't felt that thing in years!

BG, I bet it will take less than a year for you to be able to smoke my ass on a bike.

I have been talked into showing up a little later today at the track where I jog. When I first started walking I would try to keep up with these two long legged girls. They said that I could walk with them but they didn't invite many people because of the lack of commitment. Wellllllllll apparently one of them has been slacking and the other wants me to show-up, then blow by them like they were standing still, in order to, either shame or inspire our slacker friend.

The one who invited me was on the trail the night I smoked out that three miler with a hardcore sprint at the end.

So HP, to answer your question, I have been taking it as easy as one JC can! :-)

Good for you JC...i am glad you are getting out there and motivating people....I am sure you would be a wonderful inspiration here for me.....I need a strong person to get me back on track....

It is cooler here and less humidity...which is wonderful. Still in the 90's, but not as bad as last week. We are riding tonight and I am ready fos some challenges.

I only have 18 days to get in 100 miles on the bike, and to get to 270. Man, that is not very much time...LOL

D......where are you????? we miss you!!!!!!!

HP, you can do it I know you can all you have to do is get on that bike and go!

I can just imagine how well this little group would do if we all lived closer to each other!

We would be a hell of an awesome force as an exercise group!

HP that's 5.5555555 miles a day. You can do it!

JC, You are such a dork. You all are talking about smoking ass and I just want to snicker. I think of hairy butt dudes lighting farts and having their butt hairs singed.

I'm getting back into my groove too. I'm heading into the gym here in a minute and I'll be on my bike tonight as well. Should be a solid 23 miles again.

I was thinking of a goal for September, like exercising 2700 minutes which would be 90 minutes a day...that way I could balance the biking with they gym. Any ideas?

Okay, I think I need to get D's phone number next time she surfaces so she can be checked in on...I hate to worry.

J, you are going to be hell to keep up with when you get some restriction!

JC

Part of me wonders just how few calories I can eat and keep my energy up. I really want to knock off the next 40 pounds. After that I start running and I know I'll run all the way to my goal!

This is so crazy, and I agree yous guys are the best motivators in the world!

HP

Once upon a time you told what part of Indiana you were from and I long forgot? You wouldn't happen to be in the NE corner? BG is near Detroit and I could get to Toledo pretty easily...it would be freaking awesome to meet you both!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
