So I'm 6 months out, i lost 44 lbs and i have 22 lbs to go.

I've never really dieted becausw i travel a lot and have a crazy hectic lifestyle.

I walk a lot but i eat 60% clean and 40% total crap but in controlled portions.

I count calories and stick to a 1000-1200 a day.

I can eat a slice of medium pizza or a couple of chicken tenders. I never ever have soda or sugary drinks though maybe a latte every few days.

My question is, are you sticking to a low sugar low carb diet or what?

My doctor didn't give me guidelines and isn't easy to reach..

I eat a healthy, balanced diet of Protein, Fiber, veggies, fruit and whole grains. I limit white carbs (rice, Pasta, bread, alcohol, sugar) and might have them 3-4 times/month. I keep a rough tally of Protein and Water in my head so I know I'm getting at least 80g/64oz. Other than that I don't measure or track my food, so no idea what my calories or carbs are. Basically everything in moderation and probably 90% healthy 10% crap. 11 months out, 100 pounds down, 12 pounds under goal.

And no, I don't consider this dieting at all.

Idk it comes and go's not gonna lie I have chips and crap I shouldn't eat sometimes I usually eat clean all week and weekends I treat myself. I'll have a spoon of Pasta a bite of bread I don't deprive myself but sometimes I get on strict mode and I think that's fine too. With sweet sometimes I'll have some and sometimes sugar free or just none. I'm going on 9months out 115 down 10 pounds to go Sw-280. Obviously I'm doing something right. Size of my stomach still feels tiny I can eat 2 chicken nuggets max and maybe half a slice of medium thin crust pizza, just so you get an idea. Good luck:)

I eat on plan almost 100% of the time (with slight deviations for my birthday and Thanksgiving), but I don't think I'm on a diet. I make sure most of my meals are tasty as well as healthy and I usually avoid low fat versions of foods. For instance, I don't like chicken breast, so I usually have skinless thigh meat instead. The reason this works is that my restriction keeps me from overindulging.

I think if I was "dieting," eating egg whites instead of whole eggs, avoiding real cheese and avocados, etc., I would be less successful in the long run. A diet is something you go on and off of. I plan to stick with my current eating habits when I reach maintenance with a few small additions.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
