All in all I shouldn't complain, I'm 37 pounds down in a bit under 2 months.... but it's hard to feel like it shouldn't be more. I want to be that person who goes "balls to the wall" and works out 5 days a week but working 50 hours a week is exhausting me and that makes it so easy to say "naw, not today". I don't know how to get my butt in gear and just DO IT. It's a pain trying to explain these feelings to my husband. It isn't the lack of WANT, it's the lack of ability and energy to get it done.

At the end of it I just feel there is so much more I should do and am failing myself by not accomplishing it.

I have been exercising pretty consistently sine the day I came home from the hospital, I just don't want this 18 month "window of opportunity" to close without doing everything I can to help myself. On the days I dont feel like I i commit to doing something even if it is one lap. Sometimes the days I feel the least like doing something seem to be the best workouts.

Why don't you try to walk before or after you get home from work 2-4 times a week. If it's cold just bundle up and get out there. Doing anything is better than nothing!

Try breaking down your exercise into 10 minute segments.. 10 minutes 3 times per day will add up. Also, take stairs and park at the end of the lot & walk.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
