And we both had Dr. Schneider!!!! I must be his trademark! Your weightloss is so encouraging to me!! Keep up the good work. I am on day three of bandland and just trying to get in some Water and Protein Shake. I hiccup with every sip!

I have 5. 1 really small one in the center right below my bra and 4 going across my stomach right above my belly button in a straight line. One is 3 inches for the port. The rest were 1/4inch to 1/2 inch depending on the location. My mom had the same scars with the same doctor.

I have 5, One is port, 2 are sides, and one is one inch above the belly button, then i have one that is TINY, so basically it looks like i have only 4. The small one i seriously think took like 2 stitches, its really small.

You hiccup? Wow, for the few that do hiccup that's a sign it will last for life.

I'M KIDDING!!!! :girl_hug:

It's irritation to your diaphragm. It will go away... Eventually. <snort>

I have 4 small 'pokes' and one larger incision for the port. My surgeon usually only uses 3 pokes (I think), but he had to fix a hiatal hernia that was found during pre-op tests.

Hi there banders,

I have five, but I am jealous of you guys! Four of mine are around 1 inch long, and the port incision is 3 inches. None are hidden in my belly button.

Then again, I'm only 7 days post-op, so they should fade down pretty well. Can't wait!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
