Something I have noticed...

Green says it pretty well I think.

I think the American culture is a fascinating one, I love the glimpse of it that I get through here. We're so much the same yet so different.

I think its funny too that your country is SO enormous, with SO many people that your own news naturally is about all you'd get through on a daily basis.

I mentioned the other day that one of my favourite songs is our quasi national anthem, Khe Sanh, which is about how hard and confusing life often was for Australian men returning from Vietnam. And someone actually PM'd me and told me they did not know Australia was involved in Vietnam, lol! It is as huge and tragic part of our recent history as it is yours.

Yep, this seems to be an advantage of living in one of the minor countries. You do get more exposure to global news.

Is that why there are so many Bushims? Is he a victim of bite style reporting?

Nah! He's just one big bushism!

I think we DO collectively suffer from ADD. Myself included. Diagnosed and everything. LOL.

Actually, I think we're all had our right brains pretty heavily stimulated by visual input, so we're random processors and really and truly cannot deal with a linear reality.

Evilah

Hmmm, very interesting. Maybe the reason I want linear reality is because I am an old fart and grew up on the linear stuff! :tired

It has always bothered me that the censors go crazy over nudity, but all the violence slides through. I don't care if my (hypothetical) children see some boobs, but I am concerned about their overexposure to violence.

i am concerned about my child seeing both. we limit their tv time, and monitor what it is they watch. we also do not allow them to be around when Rob and I watch anything with even a little bit of violence or nudity in it.

If you want to show your kids boobs, you have the right to. there are many ways to subject your children, and the rest of your family to nudity if you feel there is not enough of it on the tv. you can also subject your kids to less if you choose. i am not sure why it is an issue that we show too much or not enough of anything. if you watch over your kids and monitor what they see, then there should not be any problem.

You'll find that many (I could probably argue "most" in this case) Americans are largely ignorant to anything they don't see immediately impacting their daily lives. And even then, they probably remain more ignorant than they should. I've often wondered... why. My inlaws are European, have been to America maybe 3 times between them, and they know more about how our country functions that most Americans. It makes no sense. We seem happy to not know what we don't know.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
