thank you , as i read your story, i had so many of those problems and ques. that it was hard to talk to any one about, yours is such an inspiration. and it helps so much, and take away, alot of the worries, for me personally, to think that alot of us have the same questions and fears, to explore still, you really look so good and so young, at that, thank you again,i'm still malling your letter over...

Hi Magen,

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. I think you are doing a wonderful job re-inventing your life and your words motivate me to take a closer look at my own. I can see myself so clearly in your story and over the last few months it has become very clear that I have so much emotional baggage to deal with along with the physical changes that my band is helping me make.

Your before and after pictures show a beautiful person finding a more peaceful happy self. Congratulations on your progress and here is to another year of more good fortune.

Keep up the great work!

I loved this! Isn't it funny how sometimes we can completely forget that We are important too? You can so easily lose yourself trying to fix everyone's problems around you. Kudos to you for finding YOU and finding out how important You are!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
