I have bad arthritis in my knee which everyone knows at work because they see me struggling to walk some days. Losing weight will definitely help my knee and arthritis so when they ask me what kind of surgery I'm having I just tell them it's for my knee which is basically true. They don't need to know more

I completely understand not wanting to tell people. My husband is 100% supportive, my parents are not. They truly don't understand what I'm going through and, as this is difficult enough on its own, I don't need a negative cloud following me. This is your decision and your journey, who you share with is your call.

With that being said, you may choose to open up once you're seeing marked success. I had thrown around the idea for years and recently a close friend disclosed they had been sleeved. Suddenly I had this remarkable resource, someone to talk to about what's happening - who actually knows my entire past. Had she not opened up and told me, I might not be where I am.

I totally understand not telling anyone. I was supposed to have the surgery 2 years ago went thru the process and all appts. My family and friends was not supportive and everyone had an opinion that this is horrible idea you can do it on your own i will help you 2 years later ive lost 8 pounds with the same medical issues that i started with. My surgery date is March 30, 2015 and i cant wait excited and nervous, I'M DOING THIS FOR ME! This time around I only told my boyfriend and my children with 3 other family members who was supportive. @@Dualstarr I hope all goes well for you. I learned my lesson the first time around and I refuse to let anything or anyone stop me to my road of being healthy looking and feeling great. I ALSO FOUND EVERYONE WHO WAS AGAINST IT HAS NEVER EVER BEEN OVERWEIGHT!

"I just feel like people woud be more accepting if they think I did it without the help. It's not fair but I know the people around me :("

You have to do what's best for YOU, but read my lips... Other people's opinions about you and your health decisions are none of YOUR business! You ARE a grown up and too old to spank, (love that)! SO do what's good for YOU and damn the "opinions" of others!

I'm not sure HOW you can hide your bariatric diet from someone living in you home at least for the first 4 weeks which will be Protein shakes, liquids and purees and even then, you'll be struggling to get that down! Even when I started on solid food, a couple of BABY spoons full and I was done! Lying's hard. Its harder to lie to your momma when she's living in your home! Just sayin'!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
