Lucky # Sevens- July 07 Bandsters

CeCe I am so sorry for you. Your H (dropped the D) is not being supportive in the way you need it right now. I always try to look for other reasons, so maybe he's scared for you and doesn't know how to express that. Men are all screwed up with their emotions. Maybe waiting there would make him too worried.

If not, then he just not the sensitive type. If he was my DH, I would tell him... this is what I need from you. Sometimes I expect him to know what I need or want, and he then reminds me that he can't read my mind. So when it's important I tell him very plainly and clearly.

As an example, on the way home from the surgery, I was supposed to drink Water slowly (1oz per hour). I was drinking it faster than that, but not much. He started to tell me I need to drink more Water to stay hydrated. I told him "Honey, please understand. I know what my eating instructions are. So for the next few weeks, please refrain from telling me what I should do, what I should or should not eat. I've done my homework, you haven't. I know you want me to be well, so please support me in this area." That's all it took.

I've got my fingers crossed for you today. It will go fine, and hopefully you man can find his way to being more supportive.

Kathy, you hit it right one with that one!!! I think all men are like that ... mine will do ANYTHING for me, but not always on his own, in fact, usually on his own!!! I have to tell him and then he will do it and I always get the response, "Why didn't you just say, I'm not a mind reader!" Well, I don't think I need to draw him a map to see that the laundry needs done or that the dishwasher needs unloaded or that supper needs made, lol!!!!!!

No kidding. If I can see the mess piling up, why can't he? However, I guess men are wired differently. I think we woud all get along so much better if men could tap into our brains for a few minutes each day (best be when we are thinking about what we want ). We of course don't need to tap into their brains because we pretty much know what they want... beer, sports, sex... LOL

Welcome back Kathy and Chim. I haven't seen frusterated, sunny, newCC, or the others yet, unless I missed it somewhere. You seem to be feeling good and following doc orders. Great to hear from you, and welcome to Bandland. It's almost as great as Disneyland!!!! Wait, it's better!!!

Still having computer difficulties, taking a minute to turn the page on here, and even the quick reply doesn't seem to be working right, as it's taking forever after I hit the button. Tried eveything I can think of, so I may have to call the geek squad as someone mentioned to do, or call someone to help me out.

Have a great day all if I don't get back on. Hope everyone today has a speedy recovery!!!

I hope to be back, but I just don't know.

OK, I am getting ready to go to the hospital and freaking out slightly. My DH did not help and started teasing me about me food. I told him to fuck off. Then he said " I know wha's in store for me during the next month" which made me that much more upset. So then I started crying and he stormed off. What a way to begin the day. I am also pissed off because he is going to drop me off at the hospital and go to work, then wait for my call to come and pick me up. I know he is totally swamped but I thought that was inconsidered of him. It's kind of sad to think the dr. is going to finish the procedure and there will be no one outside for her to report to on how it went. My family is in Brazil, my BF told me yesterday 'call me when you feel better' without asking 'do you need help/company?' and I haven't told anybody else really. Maybe I should have. And then Dh says he has to go to work all weekend. Bullshit, he just wants to be away from me. He is not a good caregiver at all, every time I get sick I need not to count on him. When he gets sick I of course go out of my way caring for him. Oh, I am so frustrated right now.

CC I am soooo sorry you are having to deal with this. The emotions are running high enough about the surgery without putting any more on. Come back as soon as you feel up to it and let us know how you are doing. We will be hear and praying for you.

I'm back to bed now to rest and read. I got the last Harry Potter book (yes, I love the sci/fi books) to read, now that I've got a little "me" time.

Take care.

Indiogirl - Love ya' date=' girl, but we shouldn't give any mis-information here...MY DOC HAS ABORTED A SURGERY BEFORE and almost did the other day again. Pre-op diets are designed for a reason and if we can't follow them (most of the time...no one's perfect) then maybe we should re-evaluate if this is the right tool for us.[/b'][/color]

!

You are right Marcy - I should have said it ("you should really try on your pre-op diet but a slip or 2 won't necessarily mean not being able to get the operation'

My Bad.....

I was able to modify (and still follow a healthy eating plan)my pre-op so that i would obtain success without the stravation factor coming into play where I would have just then given up.. If it's too hard I won't do it - I haven't found that the band has been too hard. It has been that great tool to make me full faster on alot less food. I was so happy to gratuated to to mushy - and have been taking my time eating.

Aza, Congrats!

IndioGirl!!! I know what you are saying ... I am like that too! If I get down and depressed with it, it isn't going to be effective for me!!! I have to find MY happy place! I think all of us have slipped a little on our pre-op diets, but overall, we all are eating MUCH less than we were! All we can do is our best, and each of us know what that is! Congrats on being on mushies!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
