Reaching out to any seniors over seventy

Recommended Posts

73 and three weeks out from surgery. You are right, I'm sure it's different at this age. I'm very careful about getting all my meds and Vitamins but still unable to get in enough Protein and fluids. I'm still waiting for strength & energy to return as I plan to drive from FL to AZ by myself in two more weeks. Will be harder to fix "food" along the way. Stay in touch 70 something's....we're tough, we can do this.

Did u have surgery in Fl? Wish my husband would consider it. He's 70. I'm 63 in 11 days, had the sleeve in August.

Hey calling all seniors who have had the surgery or are awaiting surgery...

I am over 2 yr. post-op and loving life.... I am 73 and am so glad for a surgeon who didn't look at my age. I lost 100 pounds and could lose another 20, but if I never do....no problem...

I do find that I need to remind myself to take my Vitamins, and I'm terrible about getting enough Protein, so am a terrible role model.

I am sure about one thing.....best decision I ever made. My PCP wasn't even supportive of me having the surgery. Glad I didn't listen to her....

Would love to hear from anyone needing support of any form.......

You're all on the right path.....

Hi everyone! I will be 70 in September so I will go ahead and join your group. Sounds like a good bunch of folks here. I am 5 months outh. Had RNY Nov 1, 2016 at Viera Hospital, Dr. Allison. I have been very happy with the results. I have not been losing lately but I know it's my own fault.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
