What does her doctor say? I am not a doctor but yes this can be all part of weight loss surgery. My doctor says I have to take 36 to 45 mg of Iron everyday for the rest of my life. If I was a woman menstruating or at risk of anemia take up to 100 mg of total elemental iron per day. This is a quote out of my weight loss surgery guide. Other doctors could recommend different quantities but I'm sure all doctors tell all their patients they have to take iron suppliments. This is one of the many vitamine bariatric patients must take.

Blood sugar issues are not a part of gastric bypass - she should see her doctor about diabetes.

Some individuals that undergo gastric bypass surgery have experienced Hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar. Generally diabetics who suffer from high blood sugar have diabetes go into remission after surgery. I do not know if a lack of Iron is related to the surgery. It may be a factor of aging or a factor that those that undergo the surgery have their blood work put under a magnifying glass and any deficiencies are quickly identified.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
