Thank you for posting this. I am scheduled for surgery 11/18 and this really helped me to see that its all worth it and that you realize everything works out after you get thru all the hard stuff.. Liquid Protein diets! LOL. I start tomorrow with that .. wish me luck. I'm scared!

girl I am 5 months out..I totally agree with her post..I am also one that had tried everything an every way on this planet to lose weight an it just wouldnt come off..it was the best decision for me as well. yes getting thru the first month is the hardest. those were my surgeons words to me...he was right. but ohhhhh soo worth it!! I was committed to do this an ready. yea the week before I started getting anxous, nervous and my mind was going all over the place. its normal! hang in there. stick to your protocol an hang tough! definitly life changeing..I am down 88 an loving it! my mind is catching up...its lagging behind some but Im adjusting. mentally it takes alot of getting used to. emotionally the first month a lil tough. but I got thru it. have my dr follow ups an their support. hang in there...I dont regret anything I did. solidly stand by my desicion...:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
