I like them, but only use them in emergency type situations where Ijust don't have anything else. Protein bars and other "protein" foods that are manufactured (cookies, cereals, bread, chips, etc.) are what I call "frankenfood"--- just because they are low carb does not mean they are good for you. Whenever I can I eat REAL food-- but if I need to grab something and don't want to eat crap, they are good in a pinch.

I have a whole Cookies and Cream every afternoon, it is my second snack of the day. it would be hard to make my Protein goal without them since i no longer have shakes.

LOVE them. i am partial to Cookies and cream, and the cookie dough ones are pretty good too.

I was told by my nutritionist never to eat a Protein bar that has more carbs than Protein.< /p>

I've experimented in the past just for fun because I doubted the Fiber content. I ate one for Breakfast , one for lunch and one for dinner and drank my usual 64 oz of Water. I weigh every day. I had a gain of 2 lbs that time. I know everyone says our weight fluctuates from day to day, but mine doesn't move more than .5 usually from one day to the next.

Glad to hear someone else say they didn't like the Peanut Butter cups but loved the bars. I bought a bunch of different bars and some Peanut Butter cups at GNC a few weeks ago and thought I'd give them a try. I tried the pnut butter cups first and OMG, I thought they tasted like bug spray!! Bleh, bleh, bleh!!! Couldn't spit it out fast enough and couldn't get rid of that horrid taste for hours. So, maybe it is just those and I might like the bars if I give them a try. I'd been scare to taste them actually. :-)

I HATED the Peanut Butter cups. Once you have been to Reece's there is no compare..LOL But I love Quest bars. There are a couple flavors I don't like, but overall they are a win for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
