"LOL! Should we have an anchovy hanging over the side of the glass for garnish??

Blech... never could (& I did try a time or two) bring myself to tolerate the flavor of beets."

PERFECT - I'm trying to divert my attention from my wound - I knew I could find it here. GOOD ONE!

A word of advice, Pam: Don't inhale Hershey's kisses, "foil, flags, and all," before flying; airport security will go batshit when they discover all that metal in your system.

Zoe, too funny!!! I got stopped in Houston for the 1/2" metal hinge on my powder compact. But Denver didn't catch the hair pick w/ the seven 4" metal prongs that I forgot to put in my check-in. Go figure!

About 25 years ago (during the reign of the first Ayatollah) I got stopped by security because I had a squirt gun in my purse, which I admit was a pretty dumb thing to have taken to an airport. I thought the security staff overreacted -- until I read about a guy who carried a loaf of rye bread onto a plane, brought it into the tiny bathroom, and chewed himself a gun-shaped prop which he waved around while demanding to be taken to Cuba.

Oops, I've veered off on a tangent. Is this still the whining thread?

I think what's so great about this board is nobody really lets any whining take place. When you feel bad enough to whine, someone ruins your day by cheering you up! I'm not even grouchy today, yet here I am at the whining thread seeing if anybody needs a good laugh!

Yeah, Marie, since the days of Al Capone are long gone, nobody carries a machine gun in a violin case anymore. . . we haul squirt guns in purses! :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
