Yeahhh, I'm so exited for us :)

I'm in Wenatchee , and getting sleeved in Everett at the NWWLS. How about you?

I live in Shoreline (just north of Seattle) but I'm getting sleeved in Mexico. Who is doing your surgery? My husband got the lap band at NWWLS

Hello All,

My surgery date is Nov 10th. Started my pre-op liquid diet today...so far so good, early in the game so I'm not sure how I'll feel later when the family is having dinner and I am not.

How do you all cope with that? When the rest of the family is eating and your not?

Kymcakes...I am Nov 10th as well. Day 1 kicked my butt. I got sweaty and shaky around noon, had consumed 400 calories. I tried getting a Protein Shake in then but it didn't seem to kick in. Learned I need the Jello, yogurt, pudding hitting my stomach to help. I'm going to concentrate on the 10 - 12:00 hours to get more Protein in. Dinner....I slept through it! This 1000 calorie max is leaving me very tired!

Im scheduled for November 11th. I started this whole process in June and I am super excited that the date has finally been set. I have a couple more appt. to attend prior to my surgery. One y history and physical and one with the dietitian to go over pre-op and post-op diet. Did I mention that I am super excited. I cant wait to see the new me.

Teensibaby - I am November 10th. Very similar, had my first surgeon appt in June/July-ish and all has just sailed from there. Have you started the pre-op diet yet? My surgeon requires a 2 week liquid diet, I'm on Day 6. REALLY shocked at how well it works and how quickly the body adjusts. Good luck to you, I'm just a day ahead.

Update....

I had my 1week post-op today. Feeling good, Dr said everything looks good. I've lost 12 pounds since starting the pre-op diet. He cleared me to move to the puréed stage; scrambled egg, cottage cheese, very thin sliced deli meat, banana. Can't wait. Sick of broth, pudding and yogurt. Still get tired easily, Dr said it can take 4-6 weeks to get your energy back. However, I can say that I feel like I've turned a corner and am feeling pretty damn good.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
