Loved all your pictures. Skinny mom. Look at your neck, it's amazing. I have one too, lol. I cannot believe how I can wear all my necklaces again. Things fit so much better. Good luck finding dresses. I had a most frustrating week trying to find one. It turns out size 12 and 14 are very popular. Now I'm competing with "the crowd" for regular sizes.

You are having a lot going on. keeping busy has helped me so much with weight loss lately. It feels great to get things done and not keel over in exhaustion as before. I'm loving this new me, aren't you?

I'm loving that my necklaces are fitting now! I found a pic from two yrs ago, wearing the necklace I wear every day, and it looked so uncomfortable, like it was choking me..now when I wear a good supporting bra, I find it it my cleavage lol.

Huge milestone....I walked around in a sundress all day yesterday in 85° weather, and NO CHAFFING!!!

@Luna222--I love the story about you being the hot sidekick!! I understand how it was uncomfortable for you too. We're not used to that kind of attention!

I've gotten some looks and comments too and I am with you, totally embarrassed! :P

It is nice to have our hard work acknowledged though! ;)

We had my honey's son's graduation party on May 9th. Of course, his ex-wife was there as well. We've pretty much both hated being in the same room with each other, but we can all be very polite for the kids. (now, after being divorced for 5 years) We all just pretty much do our own thing and don't talk to each other unless need be. Well, shockingly, at the party, she says, "Hey, Amy--you look really nice." I was stunned!! If I had time to tell you all the horror stories that have happened with her, you'd understand my shock, LOL! She pretty much hates me (thinks I caused their divorce which is SO far from the truth!)

@Beni---I didn't find any dresses. I just didn't really like how any of them fit me. Brett kept saying they were too big, but seemed like if I went smaller it just drew attention to parts I don't like, LOL! I didn't want short, cuz my legs are icky, but I didn't want the super long ones cuz then I looked frumpy, LOL! I did find 1 white sundress, it was on the longer side, but the top had skinny straps. I wanted to wear a jean jacket with it, but of course they didn't have any. My arms are too jiggly to wear sleeveless, LOL.

Let me see if I can find a picture of it. Here it is: http://www.maurices.com/product/index.jsp?expcsl=1173635%7c%7c&productId=56146316

And OF COURSE, they have a jean jacket available on line. I might go ahead and order them, LOL!

I liked the fit of it, even though it was pretty long. I think it'd be really nice for our Hawaii trip! :)

Finally broke that 170 barrier and now 169! Whoop-whoop!! Here's a pic of me and my daughter last weekend for my birthday in New Orleans and a few others. She surprised me with a trip to show me off and we danced like crazy on Bourbon Street. So much fun.

@@amylynns My arms are jiggly too and I can't seem to lose in my thighs very well. Major stubborn area. Calves too. Ughhhh!

NSV: I went on a ropes and zip line course the other day and I was so proud and happy with myself that I did it! Taking those leaps of faith into thin air at 30 to 40 feet would NOT have been possible just 6 months ago and although my arms were a little shaky afterward from that and climbing up cargo nets, I have only a little soreness in my muscles. Pleasantly surprised! Before, I would have been out of breath after the first course and worried about the weight limit and if the cable would hold me.

Yes, I too had the hardest time finding a dress, in fact, I didn't. I wanted something just below the knee in order to hide the extra knee skin. Didn't want a wide skirt because that makes me look huge. Hello, it makes everyone look huge. Don't know who's bright design idea that was. But I also wanted a little shape, not a shift dress because those only look good if you have a body of a 10 year old. Nope, everything was too short or way long and not right at all.

Does anyone have any idea how to get a hold of Alex Brecher to get the "Ticker" fixed? It's driving me nuts. I pretty much update it daily in the hope that it works. I'm 178 now and it still shows 184.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
