Just exactly how much Fluid is taken in a sip?!?!? sounds like a stupid question. I know how to drink and gulp!! LOL

A sip. Annoying, isn't it!? As a water-lover, I initially felt "why bother. How do you 'sip' Water? ? I want to drink it!!" But...it gets better. Now I can do relatively good chugs of water/liquids; ~ 3-4 ozs, wait a bit, then another 3-4 ozs more. Hang in there!!!

I would think of it as about a tablespoon - or one swallow. Hang in - it gets easier! You will gulp again! But wait a few weeks...

Yep....about a tablespoon - just enough to say I did.

My NUT (nutritionist ) says take the cap off a water bottle and fill it... That's what she calls a SIP. seriously I don't know how as I just did yard work and chugged 20 oz of Water down. It's gonna be hard.

That has been the hardest thing for me too. Sip, heck I could chug a bottle of Water last week. Lol.

I agree with you! I love chugging water. Oh boy!

At one of my pre-op classes, the NUT gave us a medicine cup, you know the kind that comes with a bottle of kids cold medicine or liquid tylenol? She said we could use that and probably get 3-4 sips out of that. I just finished all my pre-op stuff yesterday and I have to say I'm beginning to hate the phrase "sip, sip, sip, chew, chew, chew" lol

My sister who also had this surgery a few years ago gave me a great tip - she told me to buy a baby sippy cup and start sipping out of it to learn how to "sip" Water instead of drinking or gulping it. I've been trying it for the past few days and it isn't easy - you basically have to sip all day to not feel thirsty. But everyone says it will get easier so I hope they're right!!! Good luck!! ????

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
