Any November Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

10 days out, lost 15 lbs, feeling great! Starting weight 299 day of surgery November 11, now 284. Lots of energy, more then before my surgery, back at work, had very minimal pain after surgery, mostly gas in my chest which was uncomfortable. Incisions pretty much healed & I feel so normal considering I only have 15% of my stomach left. I have no problems drinking Water & getting fluids in. Protein going down fine & I'm so happy already that I chose to have this surgery! My surgeon Dr Ramos Kelly was amazing, I went to Tijuana & had such great medical care, so thorough, clean & both my mom and I were impressed! Loved my nurses and hospital staff, met some other wonderful patients having sleeves done as well. Can't wait to keep watching this weight fall off!!!! Every day gets easier & better!

I was sleeved on Monday 11/17. I came home Tuesday. I feel good except for the pain in my right side & the gas. That being said, the gas is getting better everyday. I moved to full liquids today. It felt soooo good to finally eat something that wasnt sweet!

I am down 25lbs in 3 and a half weeks. I lost 9lbs on my pre-op and and 16lbs since my sleeve on 11/10. I am super excited about this journey.

My stomach keeps grumbling like I am hungry. This worries me a little because I though they took out the part of your stomach that signals hunger.

I'm only a few days post-op, but I've found it rather helpful to keep reminding myself that a growly, rumbly tummy at this point doesn't necessarily mean I'm hungry. Everything smells amazing though, so it's tough. :)

Yea the rumbling will go away. Thats gas from surgery and acid trying to settle down. Gasx and tums helped me send mine away about 4days post op and havent had it since.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
