I had my suregery pre op was tough and I had to do it twice cause the "blizzard" my surgery was rescheduled

I'm down 28 pounds which is good surgery was 12 days ago but the pain under the incision he took stomach outta if horrendous!! I've had 11 other medically needed surgeries and never took more than three or four days to recoup this is not good the pain is burning and stabbing and I stil cannot lay on my sides and the pain goes from front right to back I can't bend it's bad

Dr said it's all internal bruising because he tried to keep incision small and pull thru but I think if rather but larger cut and less pain I have kids to tend to and I can do crap but cry moan and bitch that Elective suregery is stupid

I'm not a negative person just so over feeling down I can't even be happy w weight lose due to pain

Just wanna get to gym and feel well

Hey guys! My surgeon is Dr. Trivedi at Advance Laparoscopic Associates and my surgery is scheduled for the 19th of this month at Hackensack Hospital. I'm actually waiting to hear back from them in regards to any preop diet, I'm a little worried because I was not given any prior instructions on this. Anybody else familiar with this situation? ????

Dr. Trivedi did not have a pre-op diet for me. I had VSG 8/1/13. I'm down 83 pounds but still have about 100 to go. Take advantage of the first 6 months to a year loose as much as you can because the loss slows down. I am just getting back on track now.

Yeah, once I get throught this phase 1 and can start exercising safely, I'm going at it hard and accurately. I've heard that everyone hits a slump after about 6 months for a while.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
