Sooo, my date has finally been confirmed after a loooong journey. I am scheduled for Oct 22nd, 2014. :D However, this is all becoming very real and all of my demons are coming out of the closet. I am coming to terms and embracing my new eating style. I am already increasing Protein, cutting out carbonated beverages and consuming food differently. As I am doing this I am also dealing with my emotional connection with food. I didn't realize how much of my life was directly centered around food. Celebrations, rewards, socialization, guilt, boredom, love, you name it and there is a connection with food. I am learning to replace food with actions, not so easy but I'm doing it slowly. Anybody else having this clarity while wrapping your head around this life change?

Absolutely! I've been more aware of the cyclic nature of food addiction - recreational eating leads to obesity leads to being too tired / pained to do anything for recreation but eat more, etc. I know for me it's been a struggle to try to find ways around that, and sometimes I don't succeed. One day at a time, right?

Absolutely, even with the sleeve, this is going to be one day at a time. I am making the changes as well. The next step for me is after the nutrition class to be starting the preop diet which is rumored to be Protein shakes and one lean cuisine. but I am not sure exactly when it will be starting.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
