My first week post op I had lost 9lbs. Today starts week 6 post op and I have only lost 17lbs. I really expected to have lost more by now. Is anyone else having trouble with the weight coming off slowing? I have a coworker who is 8 weeks post op and she has lost 37 lbs!!! What am I doing wrong???

Week 5 and Week 6 I lost just a few pds total for two weeks... Your body is restoring its glycogen/glycerin (not sure which it is) stores from being on liquids (information was found on internet). I am 4 days from 2 months, my weight loss is back up to about 1 pd every two days.

@cindyd1967 I know it's frustrating, I'm in a stall myself.

But one thing I've learned is not to compare my progress with other people's. Everyone is different.

I was 195 the day of surgery. I have read that people with less than 100lbs to lose tend to lose slower. That's ok - it will still come off :) Keep the faith!

I'm the same...2 months and 1 week out and i've lost 21 lbs....it's b/c of all my meds (diabetic) so it's not fun....it'll go away slowly....I've lost more inches bc my clothes are looser, and people are noticing as well. Just keep at it :)

I am entering week 9 and I feel the same way. I have lost 32 lbs total since surgery (keep in mind I weighed significantly more than you and that does affect the totals since it's based on percentages). I don't feel like like I've lost anything, I'm still exhausted a lot of the time, I just hurt myself today by picking dog food of all things and I don't see a change when I look at myself. But, my doctor and nutritionist say I'm doing great, my blood work is good and shows no deficiencies, my hubby says he can see and feel the changes in my body all the time, I even took the extender off of my bras and I fit into clothes in my closet that I was never able to wear. Everyone, including my doctor's office, have told me that these feelings are normal and that I may not really feel like I've made great strides until the 6 month mark when the weight loss has been very significant. My nutritionist suggested taking pictures of myself every few weeks and comparing them because we can't seem to see the progress that we've made by just looking in the mirror each day. Maybe this will help you as well. Just know that we are all on a journey to better health and this journey justs take a bit more time and care

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
