oh and you don't have to eat until your full. eating less is the whole idea. So not feeling a restriction is good unless your overeating. you don't try to eat until youre full its a guide.

Par, you do know they make no carb low calorie Protein shakes that have more Protein than you can possibly get eating anything else. I don't think you should be here telling people not to drink their protein, when you are not a MD or bariatric surgeon. You also drink coffee, and caffeine is a huge no no. Most people are not allowed to drink a whole bottle of Water. Youre post is extremely irresponsible. If you drink 5 Protein Shakes ( I use a 90 calorie per shake mix) I take in under 400 calories a day. Hardly high calorie....

One shake has the same or less calories, plus Fiber and lots of Vitamins. AND it wont stretch your sleeve, which is a great thing. So I would avoid telling people to go against their doctors and nutritionists.

I'm going to go ahead and throw out the the opinion that you are not a doctor or a nutritionist. I'm fairly certain you've not spoken with all surgeons out there and don't know everyone's plan. I may be wrong, but I'd wager on all this if I could.... ;)

At 6 months out, my doctor, NP and NUT all told me no more shakes. They wanted me to get my protein from "real" foods like meat, cheese and eggs. Shakes are to be used sparingly and only for occasional convenience.

My doctor also allows coffee and caffeine. He allows real fat and real sugar. AND he suggests REAL WATER! Full bottles of it! What the what?! Imagine that!

How in the world did you get the idea that you know what "most doctors" allow? Where did you get your level of expertise that allows you to chastise and shame people with a lot more knowledge than you? I'm no expert on anyone but me and I dare say the same is true for you.

I'm floored.

i really would like to drop about 50-60 more pounds and i feel like i failed the sleeve and it is just to late!

Nope. Go back to the beginning. Start your process over. liquids for a few days then add in full Protein foods. No carbs, log everything and walk. Walking is free.

You can jump start yourself and get back on track. I have no doubt.

For whatever it's worth, my surgeon's plan is almost exactly as Lipstick Lady described, and for the exact reasons. Additionaly, the advice to go back to the beginning is what we're told as well. Best of luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
