Good luck tomorrow!!! I am Tuesday and just can't wait to stop waiting ????

Well it's day 4 today and it's been better than day 3. Every day so far has been progressively better for me. Exit incision is still very tender and sore. Other four really don't hurt. liquids going down smoothly, albeit I sip slowly still. Had Jello, an 11 oz Protein Shake, and about 20 oz crystal light. I think I'll be able to get in the full 64 oz today.

My surgery is 9/26! Does anyone know if we're going to be on a strict, liquids-only diet two days prior to surgery? I can barely stand the two shakes, salad and Protein right now. I feel like I'm starving! I lost five and a half pounds in three days! What is the purpose of this strict diet now? I don't understand why it has to be under 800 calories a day . . .

My surgery is on 9/26 too! My surgeon doesn't require the liquid diet, I was just told to eat light meals for the 2 weeks prior to surgery. I know for some people it is to shrink the liver and my liver enzyme tests all came back within normal limits so I think may be why I don't need to. I was also told with with the sleeve, they go in on the side opposite from the liver so there is less risk of injury to the liver. Again, everyone and every surgeon is different! Good Luck!

Eileen

Hi Ya

Im being sleeved on thursday 18th sep  im nervous I previously had a gastric band in 2009 and in april 2014 I had to have removed as it slipped and caused some damage to my stomcah also a hernia grew above, so that was a waste of 7500pounds lol now im self funding my gastric sleeve surgery in cyprus as this is where my husband is currently based with the british airforce and our health service will not cover the op, but money does not matter here what matters is I cant be a fatty anymore I want to move forward, i hope ive made the right decision and im determined to work with this surgery to make it work, im now getting very nervous, good luck to everyone who has there surgery today and this week,

waitingtoexhale, are you at all nervous about the lifestyle change? What I mean is, is there a part of you freaked out that you're going in to have a piece of you removed and you're going to emerge as someone with different thought processes? A friend of mine said, "Oh, you think differently about food afterwards." And I thought to myself, "Well, that's a little freaky! Am I having a lobotomy??"

@@Luana526 yes I am very nervous about the lifestyle change! All I do is think about what it would be like exactly for me personally. I'm afraid of failing or becoming depressed because I won't be able to eat a lot like I'm use to doing..... I know it's for the best for my health and well being and a plus for my sexiness :)

waitingtoexhale, I have been reading a lot of threads and comments on here and sometimes I feel like I'm about to live through Invasion of the Body Snatchers! "Oh, you'll be different afterwards . . ." That's freaking me out more than anything! And have you read about "dumping" on here? It sounds disgusting, but apparently it's when you overeat and you get palpatations, sweating, hot flashes, frothing at the mouth. Geez, what have I gotten myself into??

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
