So scared!!! I'm having no issues getting in my Water (minimum 64oz), all my Vitamins and at least 60 grams of Protein. I still get hungry but I've been staying on track. If I'm still hungry after I eat I wait the 30 minutes and drink. I graduate to regular food on Monday but I'm afraid my restriction and appetite is not what I thought it would be. I tried the turkey meatloaf in the cupcake tin and was about to eat 1 and a half and I can slowly eat 2 eggs. I feel like I'm running out of things to eat and I'm going to eat something I shouldn't. Also the last 2 days I am absolutely exhausted!

Oh I bought the premium protein you suggested. So usually before lunch I have the 30 grams from that and 2 eggs at 14 roughly. 45 grams by 11:30, I thought would help. I feel like I am doing this right but I'm still scared.

Any words of advice?

My only suggestion is to stick with it.

I had hoped for some similar restriction, but sadly I think I've felt full 3 or 4 times in the 6+ months since my surgery. I just make sure to weigh all of my food and stick to the plan that my program suggested. It definitely isn't easy, but now that I'm so close to my goal I am more than happy that I've followed the plan.

I have learned that much of the "hunger" I think I experience is simply head hunger. My brain has to be used to the years of torture I put myself through, so it still thinks that is normal. I've learned that a couple spoonfulls of fresh salsa cures my "hunger" without adding a ton of calories to my diet and really gets me through those rough periods.

Have you asked this question on the Sleeve Board? Our pouches here on the bypass board operate very differently than your new smaller stomach. The eggs for example, I can tolerate eggs just fine but certainly not 2 of them. So your method to fill up and get your brain to realize it's full is very different.

Not sure I understand, I had bypass.

Not sure I understand, I had bypass.

Since your profile shows you had the sleeve, she just assumed that was what you had done. You may want to update your profile to reflect that you had the bypass done instead of the sleeve.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
