Starting 5:2 and no scale this week

Recommended Posts

I love your determination Just Watch Me. You are always such an inspiration to me on the boards. Try to be kind to yourself, it is Thanksgiving week. I hope I can lose 5-10 lbs before my next fill so I can be down in the two teens and be on my way to Onederland. No matter how slow I've been losing. I think with the 4:3 fasting days it'll help me get where I want to be ????

Focusing on solid Protein and way less soft foods like hummus this week. Avoiding noodles and potatoes. I have a fill appointment Tuesday. I'll discuss with my nurse and decide if a tiny fill is in order. Happy Monday! Fasting day today.

Me too. Waay too good to myself the last 2 weeks. Haven't been motivated to exercise either. Starting fresh today. Junk and family gone, should be able to focus on me. I believed this was a lifestyle change and I still do, but old habits don't die hard.

I had a tiny fill of 0.1 cc and I'm on 48 hours of liquids. My nurse is the greatest. She was thrilled that I had lost over nine pounds since my last visit. But it's been 3 months, I said! She said this is when it gets harder.

I always take two Tylenol caplets during my fills to make sure I can swallow pills before I walk out of the office. That went fine.

I lost the Thanksgiving gain already and a little more. I checked against my home scale when I got home. It feels good to be making progress again.

My fasting day of Thursday will be skipped this week because I'm on liquids Wednesday and Thursday.

Have a good day everyone!

So I realized since my surgery I've lost an average of 1 lb per week and if I can keep that up I'll be at goal on my one year anniversary. Since starting my 4:3 fasting and doing the pouch test this past week I lost 4 lbs and am getting a fill next week and meeting my nutritionist. I had really been down on myself for losing weight so slow but now I feel like I'm on track and I'm so thankful for all of you and for this site!

I am hoping that my skin adapts to my slow losing. They say 'slow and sure wins the race'. Good luck all

Five pounds up. Since Tuesday. Ugh. Too much rich food and drink. Two days of liquids post fill and one day of fasting clearly didn't compensate for the eating and drinking the other days. This is depressing. I bounced up out of Onederland. I didn't want to post this but I have to stay honest with myself. And with my fellow travelers. Just bummed. Damn, it's getting harder to lose!!!

@Juswatchme no worries it does happen but YOU got this YOU know what to do & YES it does get harder the closer we get to our goals I have been wanting this last 40 off for some time now but it doesn't want to budge then again I have issues , but YOU will be back down again don't eat & stores over it or you won't be back in onderland so just do what you have been doing & I'm sure it will come off for you.

Thanks ladies. You're right. I know what to do. I'm not letting this derail me. My fasting day is tomorrow. I know some people do the 5:2 fasting days by spreading their 500 calories over the whole day. I haven't tried that yet. I was having it at lunch. I think tomorrow I'm going to spread it out. It will probably mean two meals of Protein Shakes, but that's okay. I'll see how that works this week on Monday and Thursday. And the key is to not get all loosey goosey the rest of the week.

Well Breakfast was a package of Buddig beef (90 calories) and lunch was a Protein Shake (100) and pecans (210) so I'll have one more Protein shake when I get home and that's it for today. I'm hungry but not crazy hungry. We'll see how this goes.

Down to exactly 200 today. Not getting my Onederland back without a struggle, I guess. I didn't get stuck once this week which was good. I've been relying on Buddig meat for breakfast with a cheese stick and chewing it really well. My fasting days were 500 calories spread over the whole day instead of one meal and it helped me not get overly hungry and food-centric. I'll do that again this week. I tried yoga this week twice, at a place offering a free week of classes. It was nice, but if I keep going I'll have to find a cheaper place. I did buy a yoga mat and I got a pair of yoga pants at Goodwill for a couple of bucks. What I didn't do this week was any cardio anything. Not even brisk walking. I'll take a walk now with the dog.

As expected, my weight loss is getting harder the farther I go down. I sure resist exercise. It's time for me to look into joining the Y or something affordable that will get me on an exercise schedule. All of you WLS successful people keep telling me it's the exercise that does it. At some point I need to just follow directions. (That's my own motto, right?)

Most folks have dropped off this thread. Not sure where @@2muchfun has been. Hope all is well.

Anyway, it's a new week and a new day and I'm still here and plugging along. Happy Sunday everyone.

Happy Sunday. I am in bed today. A mixture of not feeling good and feeling sorry for myself

I'm happy to say that I've found it better for my soul to weigh once a week, so that's a change I will stick with. As for 5:2, I "fasted" one day instead of two this past week, because my daughters are home from college and my Thursday ended up with us going out for dinner.

I've decided I'm going to take a break from the 5:2 for now, and not focus so much on "dieting" or "fasting"; just focus on lean Protein first, eating slowly, listening for and obeying my soft stops, and staying with moderate portions.

I still track my food in MyFitnessPal, and it helps me get a clear, honest picture of what I'm eating. I will keep doing that. I'll keep weighing on Sundays since that seems to work best for me.

Thanks to all who participated in this thread. It was nice to have your support as I tried this approach. Feel free to keep it going if you like.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
