Am 3 days out and I still struggle to barely pee drops. My stomach is swollen. Any suggestions about how to get this to pass?

I had this same problem. It lasted about 4 days after my surgery. It came back slowly. Don't fret....my entire surgical team said it was typical and normal.

I would ask my surgeon about it, I take it you are female? I couldn't go much the next day and they found my prostate had swollen, they didn't want my kidneys to back up so I had the pleasure of getting a catheter. But they did say they want to see that there is Water in and Water out before I left the hospital. So maybe put in a call? You don't need kidney stones or bladder infections while you're trying to heal.

You're three days out and this will likely balance itself. I will share though that I simply do not urinate as much as I used to before surgery (3+ months out). I do get my liquids in, but I can go a full day at work without using the ladies room. I chalk it up to an interesting side effect I have. I don't see much on it so I don't know if it's common.

I don't pee as much anymore either, but I chalk that up to my blood sugar going from out of control to normal.

I'm not having that problem, I've been back and forth from the bathroom since the surgery, my surgery was on Wednesday! Are you walking?? I've been doing a lot of walking and sipping. Try moving, if not everything will be fine, I'm sure.

Thanks for the encouragement. I have stared walking more and getting better output. Hopefully that will help get rid of the gas too.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
