I'm actually already healed up, I was doing super about 6 weeks out. I had mine done on 5/28/14 so I'm 10 weeks out and so far I've lost 51 lbs since the day of surgery. I feel much better! I didn't think it was going to happen this fast, but no complaints ;)

How are you doing so far? Also I had my surgery done at park plaza, and I loved it there. Everyone was do nice

Hi Krystal,It's so exciting to hear about your amazing results! My surgery is scheduled for December in Tijuana with Dr. Lopez, who also does the single incision technique. I am waiting until December, as it's a better time for my business. I'm a self pay because my BMI is only 30, but I have struggled for years with an eating disorder. I'm hoping that after this procedure, I can finally have a healthy relationship with food. Have you experienced a normalizing of hunger and cravings with this procedure? I am looking forward to that, as much as the weight loss. I'm looking forward to being at one clothing size and staying there instead of being on this wild trajectory up and down that has gone on for years. Anything you can share in that regard would be so appreciated!

Hi glad to hear your surgery went well!!!

I'm actually still here. I had to stay in town for at least the post surgery visit. I'm actually from MI but wanted to go to someone who does Single incision since it's more complicated for docs to perform.

I'm staying by the Galleria at Hotel Derek

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
