I agree with @@Sleeveless in seattle. I am at 3 months now, and feel pretty much normal. But a new normal... you can read my blog about it!

Good to hear! I was sleeved July 17 2014 and am still off work and was reading about people who are back at work after 1 -2 wks. I think everyday is better but I still have a little soreness at umbilical puncture site and need Tylenol hear and there. Feel like I have to work to get fluids/protein/vitamins all in throughout the day and not get behind. I started thinking maybe it's

My age - 52 yrs old. ?? I wanted to be one of those that gets back on her feet quickly and I usually plow thru anything but this has slowed me down a bit??

I'm not 15 months out and I would say by about 8 months or so I started to get into the groove of my "new normal" and now I can't imagine my life any other way. I love this strange new wonderful normal!

I had my surgery 10 yrs ago and felt normal, where My weight leveled out and my body had adjusted to this new way of living at approximately a year out. I initially had a lot issues keeping food down, but that dissolved over time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
