Why do I keep making stupid choices?

Recommended Posts

I was doing great today, and then hubby comes in with baklava. I ate half a piece, but ever since I've had a raging headache from the sweetness. When am I going to learn??

It hard but don't beat yourself up about it. We are human.

These experiences help you stow away reasons why you'll not do these things again. The next time you see baklava or any other sweet - you'll remember the headache... the disappointment. And you'll steer clear and opt to do better things - maeke better choices. It's part of the process for all of us!!! Keep your head up!

Sorry, but the answer could be never. But, it's all good. There's always tomorrow or even tonight. Start anew.

I hadn't eaten sweets in over two years, and then I brought home a cake for my daughter's graduation party from our favorite local bakery........ I sliced and ate sliver after sliver of that cake for two days. It put me in a complete sugar coma (just an expression). but I had headaches and was sleepy for two days following that....... Had to go through the sugar withdrawals all over again...... When will you learn? Apparently for me, that answer is NEVER. I have to stay VERY VIGILANT about what I allow to enter this house.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
