Videos will no longer play on my laptop- NEED HELP!

Recommended Posts

my HP laptop has stopped playing videos from youtube, flipo, etc. don't know why. it stopped about 2 weeks ago, played for a day, stopped again completely, then played some yesterday without issue, then again today it won't play them.

i am INCREDIBLY computer illiterate so i have NO idea what to do or where to go to figure it out. our AVG virus software did a virus update about 2 weeks ago but that wouldn't affect it, i don't think. and why yesterday then nothing today???

when i click onto a video it will bring it up and show the opening frame only. no further play or sound...anybody have any ideas? i've done multiple virus scans and it seems clean...

I would suggest that you reboot your laptop first. If that doesn't fix it, then try a different browser - Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer. You may need to download the latest version of Adobe Flash to get things working again. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If you've installed any browser plugins or tool bars lately, that may be causing a problem. Some software updates are now coming with things like the Ask.com tool bar as part of the package and unless you watch carefully during the installation - and uncheck a box - the toolbar will be installed by default. It causes all kinds of problems for my users at my office.

If you know how to get to the Control Panel, open "Programs and features" to see a list of installed software. Don't uninstall anything until you've Googled the program name to find out what it does.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
