What time of day do you first get hungry?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am 3 weeks out and find that I am hungry by around 12:30 in the afternoon. I usually try to wait until at least 1:30 before I eat. Right now I am in the dreaded stall and have lost 15 lbs so far. What time of day does everyone else get hungry?

What time are you getting up that you're waiting until about 1:30pm to eat? Unless you're waking up around noon, I would think this isn't a good idea because you're not giving your body nutrients nor are you getting your metabolism kicking by giving it something to digest.

Hi une nouvelle vie,

I wake up round 7:30 am and go to bed around 11:30 pm. I have lunch around 1:30 then a snack around 4 and dinner around 8:30 -that's what time my husband comes home from work.

Yes, I skip breakfast. My doctor told me if I am not hungry don't eat-that it is OK to skip meals.

You are going 17 hours without eating....that's why you are hungry. Anyone would be hungry, sleeve or not. I've never heard of any meal plan (whether you've had surgery or not) where it's healthy to skip breakfast. And sounds like you are only getting 2 meals and 1 snack. I'd be starving! Are you getting at least 60g Protein and 64 oz liquid doing it that way?

I track my food on my fitness pal. I average almost 50g Protein and I am still working on the 64 oz of Water. I will try eating an egg or something small for breakfast and see if that helps move the scale along and increase my protein.

I had to "train" myself to eat breakfast. Usually I'm not very hungry so I have a Protein Shake.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
