Someone please help! Weight stall! (Again)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys! I need some advice! I was sleeved on May 13th, 2014 and I'm a little over 2 months out. I began at 330pounds and I have lost almost 40 pounds. I'm like super stressed. My weight keeps going back and forth in between 289 to 291 and it's driving me crazy. I really want to lose 110pounds in 9 months (by June for a wedding that I'm in).... I literally cried today because this is so hard for me. I work out for an hour on Mon, Tues, We'd, Thurs---- mostly cardio.... But I'm not sure it's enough.... Does anyone have any suggestions on a variety of foods for Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Snacks? And exercise plans also? I'm so burned out from eating the same stuff over and over! PLEASE HELP !

Hi Jazzy I have not had my surgery yet but I've read many post about this subject . The common response is to make sure you're getting enough Protein. Many have stalls-but they seem to get over the hurdle within a few weeks. Please don't stress yourself out. 40lbs is great! You are averaging 20lb a month. Have you ever lost that much weight before?

Good luck, stay on program it will happen. Hopefully those who have experienced stalls will offer suggestions

Hi I just had my sleeve on Wednesday and taking the Protein Shakes and drinking lots of Fluid. Not sure how much I have lost but maybe you are putting in more calories than normal. Everything will pay off just look into foods that you can eat but of course Portion Control Is the key. As for me I am just in the liquid diet right now and been feeling full with only the Protein shakes, and chicken Soup that my mom has been making me. Good luck!! And you should be happy with what you have lost!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
