Unexplained fever

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I have had a fever for the last 2 days... 101 - 102* F. No other symptoms that would make me think I have a cold or flu. Just a fever and muscle aching. I also have no appetite, which could just be because I am sick. I also feel some pain around where my band is deep in my body, especially if I take a deep breath.

Mostly I am freaked out about the fever.

Has anyone had any experience about the body rejecting the band? If so, what happened? How did you feel? How did you know your body was rejecting the band?

Band rejection has never actually happened according to Inamed. The possibility of it happening is 1 in 1 million. Someday, it will likely happen but it hasn't yet. Do you think that is your issue or should you call your doc and get an appt?

Call your doc, if you have ANY doubts whatsoever get in to see him/her and get a diagnosis.

Thanks guys. I have had a fever now for the last 3 days. My stomach does hurt deep. If I hiccup it really hurts. I definitely need to see the doctor instead of trying to figure it out on the internet....

You know what they say about people in health care.... BAD PATIENTS!

I know, when I went to the ER last weekend and tried to explain I thought it sounded like a blood clot, you could tell the nurse was irritated with me. My mom use to be a nurse, so when the nurse left, my mom laughed and said 'You're suppose to play dummy... say "My chest hurts, I don't know why!" and let them figure it out'.

One thing all the doctors keep asking me when I talk about the pain, is if I have a fever.. I haven't, but fever goes with infection. Though you are too far out for a surgical infection, anyone know if it's possibly a port infection? I thought those had nothing to do with the surgery.

Hopefully it's just a flu, but talk to your doc ;)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
