sick for days

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery a year and 1/2 ago and for the past week I've been ill. I'm either puking, nauseous, or my food is getting stuck. is this something I should contact my surgeon about or do you think it will fix itself. I'm not eating anything I've not eaten in the past and I've been staying away from foods that I know get stuck. If anyone could please help me with this I would be really grateful. Thank you

If I were you I would definitely contact the surgeon about this immediately.

Take care and let us know what happens with you.

This happened to me a few weeks ago! I'm a little over 6 months post op. I couldn't even hold Water down without puking it back up. This went on for four days. Went to see my surgeon and was dehydrated. He sent me to hospital for intravenous fluids. I felt much better afterwards and was able to eat and drink. He thinks something I ate got stuck and wouldn't allow anything else to go down. If the fluids didnt help,he stated he would have to do another endo... I was sure glad it did because I did not want another endo

Contact your surgeon - that's what they're there for. Determining exactly what is happening is a job for the big kahuna.

You must go to the ER immediately. You may have an intestinal blockage. 4 years ago tI had the same symptoms and they found that the ascending limb of my colon had twisted around itself. When this happens they have to remove it. It may also be possible that your intestines may be completely full and are not working at all. That condition also requires hospitalization to get it all working again. If you delay getting yourself properly taken care of, this could be fatal. Blocked intestines can become gangrenous and if that happens, there is no cure.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
