Sleeved on Thursday July 10th and very sore

Recommended Posts

So many people say they feel great after surgery but I am very sore. Feeling like a wimp. How did others feel day 3?

I was feeling the same way you were. Being on this board made me sad cause there's so many people who have little to no pain and I'm still on paid meds. My surgery was on July 8th and I am 5 days out. I am not a medicine taker but it's getting to the point if I have to leave the house I make sure to bring pain meds!!!! My doctor was so certain I wouldn't need them after day 2!!! So not true! I had a lot of pain in my right side. I am also a band to sleeve revise so I was wondering if that played a role as well. Good luck to you. Today is day 5 and I haven't taken any pain meds yet today so maybe day 5 is the breakthrough day! I was also able to sleep on my side last night!!! Hope all gets better for you. :-)

dear "wimpy" ;)

sorry you are sore, but its only been 3 days!!!

your poor new tummy has been through the ringer

so have you :(

"USUALLY"/hopefully you will start to feel better each day, one day at a time

but, you "might" be someone that takes "alittle" longer to heal/feel better

repeating though, you are only 3 days PO - gotta give things time

"God Grant Me Patience, Just Hurry Up About It!!! ;) "

there have been some threads concerning other people that had wonderful feelings/no problems after surgery

BUT, you/me usually hear the sad/bad tales about different experiences :(

people hurting here and there

feel better, soon, rest, sleep, pamper yourself :)

right now YOU are the most important person around (except me of course :D )

put yourself on the front burner!!!

good luck :)

speedy recovery

kathy

Day three I felt SO much better than the previous days, so I was kind of thrilled, but then I kind of hit a plateau and felt the same for the next week or so, and was less thrilled about it. I'm a month out now and overall I've had a great recovery, but I still get so tired. Everyone is different. Just hang in there and it will continue to get better. Use the pain meds when you need them - that's why you have them. You will slowly wean off.

I was sleeved July 10 and am not feeling too super. I just want to feel normal again. I am taking pain meds and am having difficulty drinking enough. I had loose bowels with the Protein Shakes so my surgeon said to hold off for a few more days. Would love to have people to share the experience with.

I had my gastric sleeve July 10. The hardest part was dealing with the shoulder gas. To anyone having the surgery soon Please walk!! It's so important. I came home July 11th and I feel a bit more comfy in bed but I do continue to walk around my house. I even started my menstrual which has been months since I had my period. Has anyone else started there period after surgery? I drink my Isopure protien drink and also drink like 32 oz of Water which I need to drink more. But one thing I notice is I have cravings for regular solid food. Yesterday my family was over and the cooked and I wanted the food so bad. I know it's in my head but does anyone else feel this way ? I do drink half a cup of chicken broth

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
