Fear is getting the best of me.

I'm a sleever. I have lost 72 pounds since the month before surgery.

I think I might have worried about every aspect of surgery I possibly could.

I can't speak for band, but my sleeve is wonderful.

Honestly there have only been two times when I was triggered and felt like my old habits wanted to come back. The last was at a social situation, and I felt like I wanted to eat a ton just to fight social anxiety and have something to do.

But instead I put healthy food on my plate, ate my cup of food and got up and did something else. Because I physically couldn't eat more or I would be in intense pain.

I also realized it wasn't worth sabotaging my progress.

I looked at some desert and it looked good but it also looked like failing. So I had a tiny bite of something and that was it.

Sugary rich food makes me feel sick now. So I don't even crave it.

The same thing with greasy and fried food. I have had one French fry or two cheetos here and there. I just want a taste of it and then I'm done.

Every time I get on the scale and see another pound gone I'm amazed that this is happening. And then I'm sad that I wasted a lot of years.

You can do this!

Thanks everyone, You where all sooooo good with information and support, If I have my surgery in Mexico would you suggest going to a nutritionist or just bariatric pal for info, I live out in the country, two hours to anywhere. So hard to make it to a doctor once a week, I don't have alot of friends or support people, I'm a cook at our school and this worries me as well. P.S Ya team!

Your awesome cowgirl!! LOL!!!

Tearbear- trust me...the tool does work! When your stomache says your full " you will know - an be satisfied. Some ppl say I eat like a bird. But I get full on smaller portion and don't have the desire to eat more. They are used to me eating massive unhealthy amounts. Not any more. I've lost 85# now and my desire to be a couch potato has now turned to being outdoor and enjoying life!! I like jacks saying, your not giving up food , you just eat less and have the same satisfaction as if you ate the other way. However, it took me 3-4 months for my eyes to trick my plate it was smaller.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
