Those pains were terrible. It started on my second day in the hospital and they were doing their best to figure out what was going on. Today is better. I have more energy and I am going to continously sip on those darn Protein Drinks, lol. the Water is not problem but I get full off the shakes quickly. but things are definitely looking better.

Thanks

I haven't noticed to much of a difference in the way I look with my weight loss. I have noticed that I have more energy and I do not get tired as quickly as I did before! My clothes are definitely not fitting the same on me.

I would suggest cutting your chocolate shake with a bit if coffee to make like a mocha, that helped me out a lot! I weigh all of my food! I also buy Soups and blend them smooth and have them for lunch. I've been having chicken from time to time too and that seems to be sitting well with my sleeve! I still have Protein Shakes which don't bother me as much as they did in the beginning. I grab one as a snack during the day. Another thing I've started is I set alarms in my phone for Breakfast lunch and dinner and two Snacks so that I make sure I'm getting the nutrition I need and also so I am not eating because of head hunger. It's working I'm down 6.1lbs from last week and only 4 weeks out I have 97.7lbs until I hit my goal weight!

Post op day 8.... No incision pain. Yay! I have less energy today, feeling pretty good I have half of my Protein in for the day, wiring on getting some Water down. Walked this morning about a mile, going to head to the Y this afternoon. I can tell that I will have to eat several small meals when the time comes because I do get full so fast even on the protein drinks but I am hungry 2-3 hours later. This is all one big adjustment, good luck all the August sleevers! Hope all is going well for you!

Today I started the morning some some incision pain, two pain killers and my protien shake. I ended up dizzy, light headed with the shakes and sweats. I was scheduled for my one week post op docs appt this afternoon but after reporting my symptoms to the doc this morning, I was immediately called in for blood work. Turns our, my blood sugar was low, my bp was low, and I am dehydrated following yesterday's bout of diarrhea. I am currently at the hospital getting fluids, nausea meds and something in my iv that will reduce the swelling in my sleeve.

I started on puréed today, I was supposed to start last week, but my stomach wasn't ready. I bought a blender. Cooked curry chicken with pot and carrots, blend that up and put into small containers. Did the same to my salmon salad and cabbage/meatballs. Had a small portion of salmon salad for breakfast. Wasn't hungry for lunch so I had a Protein Shake. The one I really like is EAS brand advant carb control shakes. They're only 100 calories, 17g of Protein, 0 sugar and only 3 carbs. But a bit high in sodium: 320

Had my 1 week post op this morning. I got the go ahead to move to puree. I can't wait... I'm feeling like my clothes are different, but I haven't lost that much in pounds.

I did just started my chewable vitamins... ugh, my stomach is not a fan. At all. Is anyone else having issues with their Vitamins? I'm using Celebrate, orange. Any tips? Ugh.

Hey everyone just and update with I was sleeved with dr lopez in tj on 8/23 and all my incisions have healed for the most part except the one on the left closest to the belly button. On Sunday I was cooking and I felt wet on the inside of my shirt and said blood, no it couldn't be because they were all almost healed. However that is the spot where I get the most burning , anywho I lifted my shirt and yes, I was bleeding from my incision only on one side it was leaking out , not regular colored blood more like a dark sticky blood color so I just kept wiping away. Ask my mom and she said it was not normal I called the hospital I was attended at Mi doctor spoke to a nurse and they told me to head on over. It was around 8pm and I live 1h30min from Mexico border. I got there however they said my dr was in guadalajara because he does one week here Nd one week in tj so a girl named fatima who was present during my surgery and had attended me was there she took a look and treated me. Good thing I added her on Facebook I was able to update her the next day here in the states looks like it may be a blood clot . They gave me the correct term I just can't recall...hema...something they told me I can let everything ooze out and on Thursday they will open the incision and get all the nasty stuff out and let the incision heal on its own. Soo I'm thankful they were there as soon as I needed at were waiting for me to arrive at the hospital even if she was off for the day considering I got there at almost 10p

@@DownPat I had my surgery on 8/28/14. I am unable to chew the vitamins, so I crush them and mix it with yogurt. So far so good.

Hi, I'm new to the site. I just had my gastric sleeve done on August 28, 2014. I'm full of different emotions right now.

Welcome blesses14life,

I know how you are feeling. I was also sleeved on the 28th. This site has been a wonderful experience for me if for no other reason that to let me know I'm not alone. It's interesting to me how different we all are yet how much the same. I hope you find the support here that you need. I know I have.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
