I just had mine last week and already lost weight. Heads up, you will be very sore and tender. I had to go to the e.r. Last night, pulled the muscle under the skin. But I am fine now. I will say a prayer for you. Hugs

I had mine on Tuesday. It was a breeze. He just talked to me about my food addiction, asked questions about why I wanted this surgery, asked if I thought it was going to be easy and what I planned on doing to keep myself on track post sx.

My psyc eval was long... Asked about my family being on board, well no b cause I haven't told them yet! My daughter is controlling I told him and I don't know how she will react.

Asked about my eating habits and why I want this done, I swear he wrote a book out. Was yours covered under insurance? My eval wasn't :-( very costly.

Has anybody else lost weight since starting the pre op? I have only followed the eating rules and haven't started the exercise yet and I am down 18 pounds. I have never had the weight come off like this before. I am actually worried they will cancel because I'm doing too good.

I too will have surgery planned in late October or early November. BCBS requires 6 months of physician supervised diet. I saw my surgeon two days ago and he wanted to schedule right away. I reminded him of the 6 months. I get my psych eval this Monday and the Cardiac test on Wednesday. My NUT appt is in two weeks. I have been tracking my food but not worried about losing until after my NUT appt. My BMI is right at 40 so I am being careful to not make any drastic changes until after the NUT appt. My surgeon is doing the supervised diet. Biggest post surgery worry I have is what I will be able to take for my arthritis..

Just curious. Are you more nervous or excited. I'm personally more excited. I keep thinking about all the things I get to look forward to. I told my husband next year I'm planning a big shopping trip!!

I am worried that my insurance will not approve me for the surgery. Beyond that I am mostly excited. Ok, my other big concern is sag. I seem to already have an over abundance of sag and wrinkles. But the benefits are well worth the sag. I would love to get the surgery part over with! I let myself gain 10 pounds (not hard to do) so I could be at 40 BMI. Now nothing fits and I am really uncomfortable. Whenever I lift something I think about carrying that amount of fat around. The lowest weight I have been as an adult was about a week at 190..I can't wait to see what it feels like to climb stairs without 100 extra pounds.

Yeah I'm a little nervous to see what my legs and stomach are going to look like afterwards. I'm sure it won't be the most attractive for a while. But I rather carry around lose skin that I can cover up than the 120 pounds I want to lose.

Samanthar , you said your cardio was the past Wednesday ? What did you have to do with him? My cardio isn't till Aug 22 now, they keep changing apt date. I'd just like to know what happens during that visit.

Thanks

I have my cardiology test next week. It is a cardiac stress test so I thought originally I was supposed to get on a treadmill. When they actually read the test it was a chemical stress test that was ordered. I am going in for the two day test now. An hour on day one. IV something to induce stress...then I ma not sure what is done on day two.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
