Okay, that's what I was hoping you meant... I was thinking perhaps you meant a blood bank or something... and i was kinda freaking out about that! heh. The seminar this Thursday should be very educational for me!

Hey - how much is the procedure if you self pay Dr. Fusco?

Hi Tom and MLS,

Sorry it's been a few days.

I have my first appt. with Dr. Fusco on Thursday May 10. The day before, I have my appt with Melbourne Same Day Surgery.

I am self-pay, but I received the money as a gift from my grandmother, so I didn't have to finance.

The total I was given is $16,750. This doesn't include the nutritionist ($60) or the psychologist ($160). If you have insurance, $3700 of it is not billable to insurance. Keep in mind that the surgery is tax deductible.

This amount includes fills and follow-ups for the first year.

You both will enjoy the seminar. It is very educational.

The seminar was good, but I'm still wondering if they will even allow me to get banded. My BMI is 32 - 33, so it's a stretch. But some people tell me if your self-pay they'll do it if your over 30. I guess I need to call them and see where I take it from here.

Is there someone in the office that you have had good communication with?

I'm glad you liked the lapband seminar. The only person I have talked with is Kathy Blair. She's listed in the packet as the first person to call. She is very informative. Maybe she can help.

Yes I spoke to her today, and she feels very comfortable that I would be able to get banded. I still need to call her back to get the ball rolling.

So I see you have 13 days to go, did you start your pre-op diet yet?

The pre-op diet is only 3 days. Very surprising when I read other posts that people are on liquids for 2 weeks.

Next Friday I start with liquids for 2 meals and then a solid, that goes for Saturday, too. Then Sunday is all liquids and nothing after midnight. I feel lucky.

If you are self-pay, the ball rolls really fast!

Did you get to meet mls67 at the meeting?

Now I didn't get to meet anyone really, that place was packed. I was so exhausted that I left a little early.

Hi I'm in Palm City, (further south of you). I was banded on May 8th and still on liquids at the moment. Not as sore as I was and each day gets a little easier. Am still having problems with pains between the shoulder blades though - feels like indigestion!! Don't really know how to avoid it. Continously sipping Water and diluted juices!

Hi all - I did not get to attend the May seminar due to a work conflict that came up on that day... but am attending the June seminar. I am so mad that everything got pushed back a month! But am excited to hear about how you are all doing!

How is the weight loss coming MPatrizzi? I hope it's coming along... how about the pain? Is it just awful? Have you started eating mushy foods yet, or are you still on liquids?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
