You know, I think I'll welcome some loose-ness! Haha!

Hey guys, I bought 3 different kinds of Danone Silhouette yogurt. It's fat free, and says "0 sugar ADDED" with Splenda. Is that right/ok?! I think it has some fruit in it. :phanvan But I couldn't find anything else!

Can you guys give me some exact brands and kinds!? I don't know if I'm doing it right. (well, not yet... starting tomorrow)

I did buy some chicken breasts and since I'm planning on going to the gym EVERY day, I'll make sure I do have a plain chicken breast every night when I get home from there. I'll even have some cottage cheese BEFORE the gym.

I think I'm all set for some exciting days to come!

Argon,

You are so much better than me.. I thank the lord that when I was banded there was no pre op diet.... Good luck and I hope it works for you, between the gym, yogurt and chicken it should.

I found kickstarting my weight loss was almost like being banded all over again for the amount of excitement that it generated within me kept me going strong.

Mandi - when I was checking out yoghurts a while back (another diet) I found that Silouette was the lowest in all categories and it tastes great. Astro makes a Zero one as well. Just get the one that is on sale. Best of luck.

Argon;

Good luck with the yougart & cottage cheese thing. I can't believe it , but I am having a really hard time with no restriction (No fill yet) so I also went out and got some yougart & cottage cheese again to help me till fill day. After doing it for 2 weeks the first time I swore I would never have that stuff past my lips again...LOL....Who knew?????

It really does work and I felt pretty good on it as well, compare to some other diets I have tried in the past. Good Luck

Thinking of you ....keep us posted.

C'mon Wheezy, do it too! Loriely, maybe after your fill, you won't even need it.

I just had my chicken breast, and boy, was I ever excited! I figured Frank's Red Hot sauce would be ok, so I added some to spice it up.... and did it ever! Good though. Since eating is quite troublesome for me in the morning, I had about 1/2 cup of yogurt at lunch, and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, then at 4:30, 1/2 cup more of cottage cheese, and 1/4 of yogurt. Now my chicken breast, and I'm hoping to be able to get in some Jello before I have to quit eating for the day! Maybe some milk too. I loooove milk.

I weighed myself this morning so I will know how it goes. I've got that party on Friday night, but I will try to get right back on track the next morning(afternoon!)... and hopefully not ruin things too much.

Do you think that ANY kind of boring Protein would be ok? Like, say... instead of chicken on night at the gym, how about a piece of salmon?

(good luck to you too, Rosi!)

Mandi - I went to TLBC seminar last nite and they said the purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink the liver only. She said that the one year mark is hard for lapsters. They often plateau. I thought of you. She said to make sure your portions are correct. After a time, we tend to increase without realizing. She said to change up your exercise routine and that should help.

Yes, I know that that is the purpose of the pre-op diet, but a nice 'side effect' is that these people also lose a good chunk of weight. I know I'm not eating too much. Not the best choices, yes. That's what I'm trying to nip doing this diet... hopefully a loss will motivate me to keep working at it. I have switched my exercise routine recently, so that's not it. B)

Susansilver - I met Jurema and Doddie. Doddie already has her band. She showed me her incisions and I felt the port under the skin. It was neat. She came all the way from Vancouver for her first fill.

Jurema is being banded on May 4th. Isn't that your day as well?

Both very nice ladies. Doddie is hilarious. Seminar was very informative. Kinda scared me into the realization that I will never eat a lot at one sitting anymore. That does make me sad

It definitely made me sad for quite some time (6 months-ish). Sometimes still, it happens. :)

wow, this is tough. It would be easier if I was doing it outta fear for my life like last time! (and if my work didn't have such a nicely stocked vending machine, and I didn't walk downwind from Tim Hortons each day)

Now I think "Geesh... just a couple of days ago, I could eat what I wanted!" It seems so long ago. I'm looking forward to the hot sauce doused chicken breast.... soooo much. I'm lucky I'm not a big fan of yogurt as it is, cause, I can see yogurt (and CC) turning into the new Optifast!

I have seen scale movement though, so that's always motivation to keep it up!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
