I have seen a lot of people having to have their gallbladders removed after surgery. This would be unnecessary had their surgeons put them on Actigall.

Actigall is a medication to prevent gallbladder problems post-op. I am shocked by how many surgeons don't put their patients on this medication.

If your surgeon has not mentioned Actigall, then ask him about it. BE YOUR OWN ADVOCATE!!!

I not on it and I still have my gallbladder. My program won't put someone on it long term unless you have a risk for it to come out.

My surgeon has his patients on it for a year post op when they are losing the bulk if their weight. I think it's a smart idea.

Rapid weight loss increases the risk significantly. Gallbladder problems are horribly painful and the surgery is misery. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
