Really craving chicken tuna and eggs

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved May 29. My nut gives us three food phases, phase one Clear Liquids (which I did) phase two full liquids (until July 7), and phase three regular solid foods. My phase two list is sooo short. It states 40 grams of Protein via supplement shakes, plus watery oatmeal grits and cream of wheat. I am also allowed low fat strained cream Soups, low sodium broth, low fat milk, fruit juice, coffee, tea, light/low carb yogurt, sf Popsicles, NSA applesauce, sf pudding, sf Jello.< /p>

When I saw my doctor for post op one, he told me I could purée fruit or veggies into my shakes, and even purée ff refried or other Beans. I am reading on other threads of folks at my stage (and who have had surgery on the same day) who are mixing stuff like healthy tuna chicken or egg salad and pureeing it to eat. Is this something that is allowed normally? I am just ultra paranoid of leaks or blockages... Thanks for your help :)

The diet I have for post-op allows purees starting after 2 weeks - anything that has no lumps, like baby food.< /p>

I wasn't permitted anything like that on phase II. No fruit, no grains, no nuttin'! I made the mistake of pureeing salmon because others on the site said they were permitted to do it. Yeah...bad idea. You may be craving because you need more Protein. Ask can you add a little lowfat milk to your Protein drinks, it may help.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
